2025-26 SPRING CAMPOUT: Tenative Agenda
(We need volunteers!)
When: The campsite is reserved for our group from Friday at 3PM to Sunday at Noon. However, organized Xcout activities begin on Saturday morning at 10:00 AM and end at 10:00 AM on Sunday.
Meals: Friday and Saturday breakfast is on each Family. We will coordinate lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Food costs will be calculated closer to the campout date and a per person total will be provided to all attendees.
Campers arriving prior to the scheduled activities (Friday) are responsible for coordinating their own dinner on Friday and breakfast on Saturday.
Water: The campground amenities include drinking water, but for convenience, please bring enough water to last you and your scout for the duration of your stay.
Facilities: The park offers flush toilets, hot showers (for a fee) and laundry facilities. There is also a playground for kids and plenty of open space for activities.
Activities: Our Cub Scout group will enjoy hiking, wildlife viewing, and outdoor activities throughout the weekend. Wildlife you might spot includes deer and various birds. We'll also have scheduled scout activities from Saturday morning through Sunday noon.
Requirements: All vehicles entering a state park require a Colorado State Park Pass. If you don't already have an annual pass, the daily entrance fee varies but is generally about $10 per vehicle. Please be prepared to purchase this at the entrance if needed. Please follow all park guidelines regarding wildlife, fires, and camping etiquette.
Reservations: A campout sign up will go out closer to the dates of the campout.
Who: All human family members and friends are encouraged to attend. Each person will need to provide a Medical Form. Each Adult will need to pass Youth Protection Training.
Please Note: These campout opportunites are for all of us to meet up in the great outdoors and talk about and use some of the amazing skills we look forward to learning or have learned over the year! We will abide by the same guidelines and rules that apply to Pack sponsored activities (youth protection, parental supervision, age/skill appropriate activities, etc.) If you have any questions, please reach out to pack599sandburg@gmail.com.
Families are to bring their own camping gear, water, and food (with the exception of Pack-coordinated meals). See packing list for additional details.
Not all items are required for Cub Scouts, but for your comfort and enjoyment we ask that you consider picking up as many of these items as possible. The Scout Motto is "Be Prepared". And rain or shine, we will camp (but not in extreme weather).
